It's legitimate for setting up a prepaid phone account for an inmate... but I don't recommend responding to them unless it's for an inmate you trust and wish to pay to speak with.

its not pretending to be the jail it is the jail but if they dont have on the phone it will tell u how to put it on the phone again its not a scam

It's GTL not spam. You were actually important enough to someone to be on their phone list while incarcerated.

if you have someone in jail, take the number to call to setup an account. if you dont have anyone in jail then block calls
